The Mammogram: May 5

Pictures and more pictures. Then into examination room for the ultrasound(s).

Mammogram dayUnless you are the most oblivious (or perhaps optimistic) person in the world, you’re suspicious by now. Since I was already suspicious and feeling guilty about ignoring regular mammograms for a while, my mind already was spinning with scenarios about my fate.

There also were now three people looking at my pictures – one of which was the on-duty doctor – so I knew there was a recommendation coming. Needle biopsies – three of them – were ordered and my appointment for the procedures scheduled before I went out the door.

OK – so tell me – do you recognize the lovely mammogram jacket? Fashion police, where are you?

A few months ago I wasn't but now I'm a statistic. That doesn't define me. I'm a daughter, a sister, a wife, a step mom, a grandmother, a friend and a Christian. I will continue to love exercise, music, cooking and food, and my family and friends. I'm stubborn, energetic, giving and too OCD for my own good sometimes. And I'm going to stay this way - despite cancer and the treatments that it takes to give it the royal beatdown.
