Some Things You Just Can’t Resist

BitchSlaptshirtOne of the weekends that I felt good – a non-post-chemo weekend – I happened upon quite a selection of t-shirts that were obviously there because October had arrived – Breast Cancer Awareness Month. There were some great ones! But the two that stood out were Fight Like a Superhero and Bitch Slap Cancer.

Dennis chose the second. And it was very popular when I wore it for a work out soon after the purchase.

One of my “rocks” is Michael Beacham. He’s our personal trainer and he has been awesome through this part of the journey. He’s helped with my arm/shoulder rehab and with helping me to workout without just killing myself during my treatment. This is all in the midst of the upcoming birth of his first child – which takes place this morning at 7am. Charlotte Reese Beacham will soon greet the world. Congrats – ahead of time – to Michael and his wife Amanda. I know she will be beautiful.

A few months ago I wasn't but now I'm a statistic. That doesn't define me. I'm a daughter, a sister, a wife, a step mom, a grandmother, a friend and a Christian. I will continue to love exercise, music, cooking and food, and my family and friends. I'm stubborn, energetic, giving and too OCD for my own good sometimes. And I'm going to stay this way - despite cancer and the treatments that it takes to give it the royal beatdown.
